Understated peplum

Hello everyone,
Today I have this super simple yet chic outfit. I love this top since it is a fresher take on the peplum as it is in a silkier fabric and an understated color. Paired with a pair of black skinny jeans, it is a look that I gravitate towards on lazy days.

Greek Easter cookies recipe!

Since it's Easter I thought I would make a batch, or two, of traditional Greek Easter cookies. This is a recipe that was given to me by my lovely grandmother and it holds a special place in my heart. My family and I have been making these cookies since I was really young, so it brings back a lot of memories.
While reading and making these cookies keep in mind that you will need to make adjustments as you go along. Also this recipe is definitely not for the health junkies. But hey, you are allowed to indulge sometimes! :)

Add all the ingredients, in no particular, in a big mixing bowl and mix.

Mold the mix to your desired shapes, drizzle an egg mix over them and bake at 360 degrees Fahrenheit- 180 Celsius.

4.5 cups of flour
the zest of 1 orange
1 glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (remove the pulp)
1 glass of vegetable oil
1 glass of sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda (mixed with a tiny bit of the orange juice)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg (so that you can drizzle it on top of the cookies before you bake them)
This recipe makes 2 large platters of cookies. If you need less then half it.
Feel free to adjust the measurements to your desire.  If you need more flour add it. If you need more oil add that. The mixture should be dry enough so when you play with it it doesn't fully stick to your fingers, yet moist enough so that it doesn't fall apart . This is a recipe that is made by heart not by scale, so enjoy it!

Spring Shoes; the staples!

I have never been so excited for spring. This long winter is just not for me! So, since spring is on its way, I thought I would put together a list of my favorite spring shoes that are in the stores at the moment. Enjoy! :)
Comfortable, textured, stylish. Pick them up in a powder blue color for an unexpected twist to any outfit.
My all time favorite show by far! You can never go wrong with a cream pair of oxfords.
You can tell I'm all about the basics. Just imagine this baby with a bright blue or red nail polish; perfection!
I'm planning to pick these bad boys up the moment I walk into H&M. I predict they'll be my spring/summer shoe. They are so feminine and delicate. The perfect shoe to wear with a sheer maxi skirt; kind of random but true! ;)
Even though I adore shoes I don't think 30 pair of different sandals are necessary. A few key pairs are all you need! Stores like Topshop, Zara, and H&M have great options for relatively good prices. Happy shopping!

Girl Crush; Gabriella Wilde

Throughout these past few years I've come to terms with the fact that it is totally acceptable for us to have girl crushes. So there you have it; my girl crush, at the moment, is Gabriella Wilde. She is undoubtedly beautiful, and a good actress. I really liked her at the Three Musketeers alongside Logan Lerman. She also has two really great tattoos that I am obsessed with! She can rock hooded eyes like no other, and her makeup looks are always on point. Lastly, her style is a mixture of class with an edge, which I can really appreciate.

P.S. Her photoshoot for Tatler magazine is one of my absolutely favorites. Definitely check it out!

Who is your girl crush?

My Christmas Wishlist

My Christmas wishlist is finally here. Now mom can go ahead and decide what she wants to get me without having to wait to the last minute. Hear that mom? :P
I mean what's not to love about this? Tartan on one side, monochrome on the other, thick and cozy! The perfect scarf in my opinion! Zara gets it right every single time! I am a little bitter that I don't have one close to me, though. After black Friday their website said there was only one left, and I want one so much that I actually emailed them to see what's going on and they restocked it!

Topshop is another one of those stores that always gets it right, except for the price- so darn expensive! However these shirts are totally worth it! They just hang so nicely and have a perfect oversized shape that doesn't swallow you! I can go on and on about this shirt but I'll just stop for your sake! :) They are the best thing in the retail world! And that's quite a statement!
Amazing overnight mask. The concept is simple and effective. You put it on before you go to bed and when you wake up your skin is soft like a baby's bum and hydrated! I was going to ask for the big bottle but a little goes a long way. It would take me ages to finish it.

This little guy will unclog my pores and get rid of my blackheads. Plus, I'll be able to scare the crap out of my brother since this is a clay mask! In all seriousness my blackheads on my nose and chin have been really bothering me! Just like the other mask above the smaller tube would be the one I would go for.
The bottle is ridiculously expensive and way too bulky, while you can just throw the rollerball in your purse and be done! Much more practical and handy!
Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in the shade Porchester Square
Such a beautiful shade! Plus the gel formula makes it very long lasting! You can get this at Sephora or Macy's.
Last but not least, gift cards to Zara and Topshop are always welcome- that would be great! ;)

Christmas gift guide for the beauty and fashion lover!

Since Christmas is almost upon us, I decided it was time for my annual gift guide. I was thinking of separating beauty and fashion but then I thought that it's better if I condense it all in one. The gift ideas I have included are things that most girls, including myself, would like to receive. Keep in  mind that you can always adapt the gifts to your preferences. So, let's get this started!

A perfect gift for the neutral lovin' gal who likes playing with makeup. Such a fun and versatile palette! It comes with a black eyeliner as well! Very good value for money at only $39.00!
Zara always brings it when it comes to scarves! I will even include one in my wishlist. This is one of their more neutral ones that most of people are bound to like and wear. And it won't break your bank balance at $35.90.

Such an adorable offering on the whole beanie trend from Topshop! I will admit that it is on the pricier side, for a hat, at $28.00, although it would make a great present especially for someone that lives in a colder climate.

Now this is one of my favorites which you can adapt to ones needs. The star of the show for me is the nail polish in the shade Porchester Square. You can either get the trio of polishes which is a great value for money at $9.00 or you could get the gel version of the standout polish at $14.00. I would personally appreciate more the gel polish because I adore the color and gel formula but the trio would make a better present. It all comes down to the person you're gifting it to.
When it comes to fragrances Marc Jacobs does the best gift sets. This particular one gives you the chance to try out a few of his signature scents. If you know someone that likes fresh, floral and fruity scents, then this set is perfect for them! It is also not very expensive at $39.00. A pretty good deal for 3 rollerballs!

Last but certainly not least, this set of 9 bath & shower oils is the epitome of luxury. I heard about them from Anna and I love the idea! Each of the oils serve a different purpose when it comes to pleasing you. A great gift for a mother in law or simply for someone in need of some relaxation. Each bottle might seem small but it contains 3 baths since you need the tiniest bit every time. This however will set you back $85.00! It's definitely an amazing present if it's within your budget. If it's not, don't fret. Soap and Glory do some amazing bath sets as well.
Phew! That was a long one. I will be back with my very own Christmas wishlist, which I am very excited about! I'll speak to you soon!
